“P.Y.T.” I-D’s September Issue (“Ethnic Casting”)
I chose the words ethnic and not black because of Chanel’s Iman quote in the behind-the-scenes video. Even though, the models on the cover are viewed as “black”, I think it generalizes more than it defines the different cultures that they embody. Chanel Iman, Jourdan Dunn, Arlenis Sosa, and Sessilee Lopez all take reigns of the front page of i-D’s September Issue, which is pretty huge since the September Issue is viewed as the most important month in the fashion industry because it previews the upcoming fashion season.

Fat Joe- “Hey Joe”
Where did you go, Joe? I missed you. I remember the time when I didn’t have to learn complicated dances to be cool. I didn’t have to tell Soulja Boy anything,chicken noodle soup was something I used to relieve myself of the cold, and when it came to jerkin’…well let me not get into that. The fact of the matter is when Fat Joe was around all we had to do was pull up our pants and lean back to be the hit at the club.
Well Joe has returned, but what he brought with him is not simplicity. From the looks of “Hey Joe”, a new track from his upcoming CD J.O.S.E.2 (Jealous One’s Still Envy), he’s back to make a statement. The song samples from a classic Jimi Hendrix song, but that’s not even the kicker. Granted I’ve never been a big Fat Joe fan, but I’ve never seen him so raw and emotional as in this video. The cinematography also has a lot to do with it (it was directed by Gabriel Hart).Here’s the video below and make sure to get J.O.S.E. 2 October 6.
