Radiohead- “These Are My Twisted Words “

Radiohead does it once again with the wool over everyone’s eyes. There was a rumor spreading around the Internets that a secret EP would be released in the near future from the “Pay What You Want” band. Bad news. No EP was released, but don’t worry Radiohead has given us their half full cup and released a song by the name of “These Are My Twisted Words”. The intro trips you up a bit, but lovely nonetheless.

Diddy goes House (?)

leave a comment »

Diddy has decided to steer a bit away from the hip hop world with his latest mix tape with Felix Da Housecat. The mix tape is entitled Felix Da Housecat & Diddy Present: Lectro Black – Last Train to Paris. If this is any hint  of how his next album Last Train to Paris will sound, then we’re in for a doozy. On the tape, Diddy talks over the overly ambitious beats of Felix. What he is saying is of unimportance, mostly hyping himself and this “new” music. I’d like to reiterate that I am praying that his album is NOTHING like this. I’m all about artists stretching themselves and exploring different musical colors, but this new shade of Lectro Black needs to stay hidden.

With all that in mind, the best part of the mix tape is 34:00-39:30. You can download at RCRDLBL here.

Julian Casablancas speaks on Phrazes for the Young to NME

leave a comment »

It’s nice to reunite with old friends, but it’s even more nice to hear music from your old favorite bands. That’s why I’ve been keeping my ears and eyes open to any news from “Phrazes for the Young” the new album by Strokes lead singer Julian Casablancas.  Unfortunately, there haven’t been any full songs released or even leaked yet! Until then we must listen and re-listen to the short snippets he gives us at the end of each youtube update. The latest video from the Strokes man is a 4 minute Q&A where he discusses questions like “How was the recording process” and “What is your favorite song of all time.” Nothing too deep, but still fascinating nonetheless.

If you really want to delve  more into the mind of Casablancas, here are a few scans from his NME Interview.
